Shot on my parents' farm in Minnesota during Thanksgiving of 2008, this old hand-pump is no longer in service ... except as a home to various lichens.

You're too kind. I was fighting with overcast conditions when I shot this, but thankfully the texture of the rust and the lichen still popped.
I've found that apart from warm light in the early morning or late afternoon, overcast days are the next best thing for taking pictures that pop. Fall foliage is a good example of that truth, and so is this photo!
